If I spent more time @ the track, 4.10's would be the logical choice.
For street driving, 3.73's just feel right..

I am running 3.73 with the mods listed below. 6th gear is still useless. I cannot run the speeds necessary to keep the rpm in the sweet spot.
I am good for what I do with the 3.73s, but 4.10s seem the no brainer for any kind of competition.
I am running 285/55R20 Toyo Proxies on the rear.
Very good tire.
The OP asked for "Real World" experiences / input ! Sorry if you didn't like my reply to this thread on 373s vs 410............And yes (as I posted ) ...on my Factory Five Cobra 1st gear IS SPENT w/in ONE second in close to full throttle ! On a stock Tremic T-5)and...YOU... have a good day !
PS...Rear end gearing does Not care WHAT car it's pushing
Also a 67 Chevelle SS/396 is close to the weight of a GT-500
And don't bother replying,Ive owned muscle cars LONG before you were born .
So what is the rear built with currently?I end up trading the 4.10 for 3.73 so I can use those with my T56 Magnum XL 2.97 First I have in the garage.

I’d still say you’ll be faster with 4.10s but if you actually try to use 1st gear on the street.
Like I mentioned the calculators do help.
