The motor in my '97 Cobra is getting a little tired so when I found a complete engine for $350 with "a rod knock" I bought it to rebuild

Already removed intake, valve covers, harnesses, and accessories

Making progress

Not bad

Still not bad

Good cross hatch still

Heads were a little oily but OK.

About 5 hours to get this far.

Fingers crossed

Doh! #2 rod bearing

Is the crank going to be usable? After machine work isn't .010 undersize bearings all they make?

Is the crank going to be usable? After machine work isn't .010 undersize bearings all they make?

I'm not sure it's worth getting machined vs buying a good used crank. What's the stock rod and main journal sizes?
