6.4 Ugly exhaust tips

Hey guys do you think if I were to cut off the stock tips too place a fat 5inch turn down tip on the 450, Would it cause any damage you think? I know they say the little holes on the stock tip reduces et's. But how can this be? I found some polished covers that bolt over the existing, But there not very attractive imo. I actually like that tip. The purpose of the slits is to introduce fresh air into the exhaust stream to reduce the temperature of the exiting exhaust during regen.

ford put those tips on to reduce outlet temps, I would not take them out just because some dealers could have problems with warranty if you do this. they have chrome tips on the superdutys with the chrome package. you might try pricing that? the temps coming out of the dpf are over 1200, and those tips and the ones by the muffler bring it down to the same as a v10 at the tailpipe.

Magnaflow has pretty nice looking tips. I would think you can buy just a tip from a dealer

i went into a muffler shop last week to see if i could get my ugly 6.4L tip replaced and the guy said he wont touch it =/
