not many chevy guys run the 555r's so im checkin to see if i have any luck over here. im having major traction issues on street tires. i can smoke them from 30mph up to around 80 and i shouldnt be able to (or atleast i dont want to). im looking into having my wheels widened to 9.5" in the rear and running some 555r 305/45 18 tires.

im curious about what kind of 60' times should i expect. tires ive tried are toyo proxy 275/65 17, and nitto 404 285/50 18. on street tires my 60' is around 2.20 and on m/t et streets i cut 1.87 consistantly. im about to up the stall converter to 3600 so i need some tires that can hang on the street. im on a 3200 right now that dosent launch any harder than my old 2600.

oh and before anyone asks, i do have a posi unit

My best 60ft on a shitty track was 2.01 i never ever broke out of the 2's....although i did more street racing that real drag racing...there are a couple back street in Chicago that hook better than some tracks ive raced on during test and tune days...including RT66 Dragway.

That's a nice truck you've got there. I have a neighbor who has a single cab version of yours (without the LS1) it's very cool looking.

The Nitto's will help a lot on the street, and if you run them low pressure and heat the crap out of them, they will work at the track pretty good too. But a few good track days will take a hell of a lot of street miles off of them.

on my 555r i was hitting 1.8 60s. I't all depends how much power your making. if your making under 400hp they are perfect, I was going 12.2s.

hey dude, if you want to widen your wheels, give weldcraft wheels a call or look them up on the net.
