I had a 100 shot on a car that only put down 343 rwhp, and that seems to be quicker than some 500+rwhp cobras. My car was also an automatic and I was leaving from an idle (had some issues w/ it) and was only getting 2.0 60'.

Not trying to start a flame war, just wondering if the cobras are that much heavier, or what.. :pop:

(The reason for past tense is because i sold the car last month)

Call BS if you want...It did dyno a lot lower than i expected.

It had heads, cam, exhaust, 3500 stall, BFG DRs.

On motor in the 1/4 it ran an 11.86 @ 116 w/ a 1.67 60'.

HAHA i dont doubt the car ran that just that a H/C ls1 will usually dyno 420+RWHP and on the 100 shot 500+ RWHP. Your saying your H/C Spray ls1 dynoes the same as a full bolt on ls1? :kaboom: :poke: :lol1: :loser:

There's local guy down here that I've run a few times on the street w/ a H/C and longtube C5 laying down 430 rwhp. Going from a 40 roll to 125 I put a car and half almost every time....I trap 96 in the eighth....so him probably 93-94. He throws a 100 shot on there and I could see low 7's at 98-100 being possible.....but you spraying a 100 shot w/ only 340 rwhp and running those times isn't going to happen. So if you're running those times you're making a lot more power than you think....

I know what other LS1s dyno, that's why i said that i was disappointed in the #s. Keep in mind that it was an A4 stalled Corvette. So it loses power through that dumb torque tube, the 3500 stall, and the irs. It was no dyno queen to say the least. Also, this was at MTIs dyno with their tune.

101 is pretty quick for an all motor car. That's pretty close to a 10.9x in the 1/4, if I'm not mistaken.

With my old set-up which included a built 4R70W automatic, 2.76" upper pulley only, X-pipe, cat-back, intake and tune on Hoosier Drag Radials, I would consistently run 11.40-11.50's @ 119-120 mph with consistent 1.58-1.62 60's on the blower. All of us know how much Cobra's dyno with the mods that I listed above. However, the dyno only showed 378 rwhp which was funny as Hell because I ran 11.40-11.50's with it on the blower. It was a non-lockup converter with a 2,800 rpm stall. My torque was awesome on the dyno though, at 565 lb-ft @ 2,500 rpm's. Anyways, it just shows that sometimes automatic cars dyno really low as did mine, but put up great numbers at the track such as my ET's and MPH's. Take it easy guys.

343rwhp with heads and cam? Obviously the dyno's calibration was off, You should be 400rwhp+ and your track times prove that

u have to remeber hes got a stall converter. that converter will never completly lock-up on a dyno so its going to read low. Im sure its probably making alot more power than that but its just not showing it on the dyno.

yes, exactly

he has a fairly loose stall... 3500 isnt all that tight nor super loose but its gonna read abit low depending on if they locked it on the run or not.

my friends 406 miniram solid roller 87 trans am went 10.8's at 126 n/a... and 10.09 at 133 on the juice. he had something like a 4000-4500 stall and it dyno'd only 374rwhp... when with a manual it should have been more like 450rwhp if not more.. cuz 374whp in a 3200-3300lb car doesnt go 126mph. it was all about the torque converter skewing the numbers. by his cam specs and heads, i would guess the motor was making near 550 on motor and should be like near 475-500ish rwhp with a stick trans

I had a auto 93 gt the put down 400 wrhp on the dyno but ran high 10 and low 11 all day long. the dyno guy told me they lose up to 27 % thru the built trans and big stalls

that's why people don't race on a dyno. there's to many variables to hp numbers. im sure the low numbers had something to do with your converter?

I've trapped 103 in the 1/8th before in my heavy Cobra and run consistent 7.1s - 7.2s @ 97 - 100 mph all day in the 1/8th .

Do the math your 1/8 mile times and your 1/4 mile times dont add up right. If you did 7.18 in the 1/8 at 100 on a 2.0 60ft then your 1/4 time will be at least 11.5 at 120 plus. And if your running 11.86 on a 1.67 60 ft then your 1/8 mile time should be 6.7 at 105 dont make sense according to your replys your car is faster with street tires and a shity 60ft then it is with slicks and a killer 60ft.

I know it "should be", but that's what it was. I stated before, I was having problems with the car when I was running the 1/8th. The car would not let me stall it up. When I would hold the brake and push the gas it would act like it was hitting a 1000rpm rev limiter. That's why my times were off I'm sure.

BTW same tires on both runs. The only differences were, that on the 1/8th mile i was having that stall issue and i was spraying.

Those are some pretty good ETs.

The reason I started this was because I was seeing guy's sigs where they had 500+rwhp, and still only managing 7.3's @ 9x mph. I had always thought the cobras were running faster than that with all of that power.
