Hey guys,

My 84 SVO just had a new head gasket installed and it
is doing the same thing.

The old gasket was blown.....and oil was coming out of everywhere
the turbo, breathers, intercooler etc.
I just thought b/c the gasket was blown, everything was being
pressurized causing the oil problem.

Now the car is fixed? the oil shouldn't be filling up the turbo
and coming out everywhere still.

Any ideas?????? turbo seal???? it's new less than 100 miles??

thanks....

I don't mean to sound sarcastic or anything. None of that implied here. But did you clean all this oil out of the engine area and other parts before you put it back together to see whre it might be leaking at? I know it sounds simple, but sometimes a leak can be fixed but the oil left behind that isn't cleaned up can make it seem as though the problem hasn't been fixed.
If all the seals, lines, bearings are new it shouldn't be leaking. Unless something isn't fitting like it is supposed to. Being that the turbo is a sealed unit it shouldn't be spitting oil.

Damn it just dawned on me. Did you have the head checked? If the head gasket was blown, then there is a chance the head got warped. I hope this isn't the case, but it might be. Sorry I took so long to pull my head out, but I didn't read your first post right the first time.

After a compression check, the #3 cylinder was dead,
so it must have been pushing oil out the exhaust
into the turbo etc.

It must have a broken ring.

We are getting it apart this week, lots-o-fun.

thanks....

Glad to be of any help. I just wish I had thought about it sooner. Sometimes the most obvious things are the ones we miss. Hope it all goes back together easy and quick.
