91 vs 93 octane

Whats the performance gain going from 91 to 93 octane?


I understand theres things like brand you need to consider, but Im looking for an approximate number here.

Well if u compare the new GT out here in cali it made like 350ish on 91 stock. Then in the east it makes like 370 or 360ish stock on 93. You will gain alil but not much. It will allow for more timing an that will get u the power.

The difference between 91 and 93 octane in a near-stock 2001 engine won't be anything close to 10-20 horsepower.

As mentioned above, unless you have advanced the timing/tune of the car, all you are doing is wasting money by purchasing the 93 octane fuel instead of the 91 octane fuel (provided your engine runs just fine on the 91 stuff).


Generally speaking, one would want to run the lowest octane fuel in your engine that does NOT INDUCE any detonation/pinging/knocking/etc.
