Anyone know if its mandatory to have the wiring harness adapter for lights to work or is it just easier to buy it??? Is there a homemade way to do it?

Its pretty mandatory to have the harness, the harness not too much, $50 new or somthing like that. Mine came with my lights.....($60 at a swap meet they were pretty trashed, but nothing flat back paint and some sand paper cant fix!)

Darn I was hoping to kind of get by without out having to buy it. Oh well. guess have to bite the bullet.
I read somewhere where you could just buy an socket from Ford for just the outside sockets since that was the only ones that didn't fit is this correct??
