How many of you on here have encountered a broken exhaust manifold/header bolt on the 5.4s? I recently discovered the source of my exhaust leak... rear-most header bolt is broken on the passenger side on my 98 F150 4wd with the 5.4.

Has anyone fixed this themselves? How much of a PITA is it and what does it take? I searched f150online.com and didn't come up with any good how-to's (just a lot of people with similar issues).

Thanks.

I just stumbled back across this. To follow-up in case anyone else ever encounters this:

The only real way to get to the broken bolts is to pull the stock manifolds. Once the stock logs were off, the broken bolts (yes, I broke more taking them off) will come out of the block using a stud removal/broken bolt kit. You can get them at Harbor Freight or any place similar. Best money I have spent in a long time.

I went back with a set of MAC equal-length shorties, high flow cats and a stock Lightning cat-back. It sounds fairly decent.
