98 F150 (Non SVT) wheel nut question

Trying to track down a firm answer for a friend, hoping someone can help here

1998 regular f150 (non lightning), what wheel seat is correct for the nuts? Conical or flat? I am quite confused as many sites suggest flat however many also suggest in their compatibility guides that conical is correct.

Depends on the wheel. If the wheel centers around the hub then you use flat. If it doesnt then you use the acorn style. Those actually center the wheel using the lug nuts rather than the hub
