Are you required to wear a relective vest at night? I came up on an accident tonight on a dark two lane road and the officer that was trying to direct wasn't wearing one. The only thing I could see was an orange cone waving back and forth.

Required? No. Is it smart? Yes! Seriously, we have policy in place that says you need to wear a refelctive vest at night. I would doubt other agencies have that type of policy and doubt whether some departments even have them.
When I worked in TX, we had a policy to wear one when feasible, during ANY traffic direction.
