My friend is about to buy a 1996 Mustang GT with 90,000 miles. I don't know much about these cars, but how well do they run at 90,000? About what mileage do they usually start going downhill? Also what kind of 1/8 mile times do these run? (searched but couldn't find any)

They're fairly dependable. Stock you'll probably see low 10's to high 9's in the 1/8. You can put just about every bolt-on on one and might see a low 9. They don't mod out well.

With a PI head, intake, cams swap it'll be like a totally new car.

I think it's hard to say how long and how well it'll run. It all depends on previous maintenance and other factors.

My BoyF's 97 5spd.did a 9.4 at the 1/8th with exhaust and gears.
