If she knows she has you as a backup she will probably never be any better and continue this trend. Cut her off and then when she realizes she has lost you due to her stupid crap she will come back or you will realize after being with out her that you dont want her anymore. Either way I would give her the boot for now and dont have any communication with her.
Dont let her know she can just come back to you anytime she wants as though you are her backup let her know that if she chooses to go off with someone else then thats it she doesnt get any more chances with you.

hate to break it to you...but if she says she's been "hanging around" another guy.. than ANYTHING could have already happened. Women will take the truth to the grave if they have to.
