Right now the car has kooks lt's, jdm catted h and a magnaflow catback. Unfortunately the h pipe developed a hole in it (in the converter) and the car sounds like poop right now. I like the sound of the car w/ the converters, it's not overly loud...the car is tuned already, etc. However the price of catted mid pipes is more than I care to spend. If I swap it for an o/r h am I able to still drive the car w/o a retune? I will get another retune over the winter or before I pull it out for spring but my work schedule will not allow it to be done right away. So if I bolt on the o/r h and still decide to drive the car (and not exactly race it) will I be ok?

You should be fine, however you may not like the sound of it. I had magnaflows with cats and loved the sound, I just wanted it a touch louder so i Bought an off road h and it sounded like it had glass packs on it . I hated it.

I'm going to try a find a deal on a catted midpipe somewhere if at all possible but it needs to be soon. My local parts supplier has an o/r in stock already and I just want something fixed as the exhaust leak sound is driving me crazy. I was curous as to what the magnaflows sound like w/ an o/r midpipe. I know my friend was selling an slp cb (lm1's) which he might still have but that would prob be deafening loud w/o cats.

Here's an o/r x lts and the magnaflows

Finally got it sorted out, I kept the converters so fortunately I didn't have the change anything w/ the tune etc... Sounds soooo good too.
