So the gasket on the rear diff is leaking and I want to fix it. Is it okay to use amsoil on stock rear end? If not whats another good gear oil? Any help please?

Assuming it's a limited slip don't forget to add the Ford additive to it, other wise it will pop..snap..and make all sorts of noise.

If it's a locking rear (posi) both wheels will rotate when you turn one. This is best done by just jacking up the rear for a minute and turning one wheel.

I'm pretty sure the gt and cobra trims all came with posis stock. The v6 did not.

It will have a trac-loc limited slip unless someone has swapped it out, which would be pretty lucky bc it's expensive to upgrade. So yes, you need the tiny bottle of additive depending on which oil you use. I have used Royal Purple in mine, it says on the bottle it already contains the additive, so I did not have to use it.
