after i installed my catted bassani x pipe i started noticing a kind of rattle when driving in 2nd-5th gear but for some reason dont really notice it in first gear tightend all clamps twice no problem there. so could the sound just be the difference from stock cats to the new hi flow cats or could it be somethig else?

at certain rpms you might be getting some resonating inside the pipe causing the rattle?
Does it go away and come back as your taching out a gear?

Possible broken cat.

May have been damaged in shipping.
Get under the car and shake/hit pipe with your hand and see if it rattles.

I had the same thing happen when I put in an o/r BBK x-pipe, at least for me the rattle I was hearing was just the pipes resonating. For the longest time I thought it was something loose. Is your x-pipe catted or o/r? If its catted it could be a broken cat, as posted above, bang on the cats and see what you hear. If its an o/r pipe then its probably just the pipes resonating.

It it an older Bassani cat? The heat shield may be coming loose. I just pulled the shield off it is still on my work bench. No more rattles, except when I drop it on the floor :) Just stay clear of tall grass....
