what is a good product to make the black trim look new again and wont damage it????? because i used a product that didnt agree with it and made parts of it turn chalky white??

I've always used 'Back to black'. It's leaves a bit of sheen but its not too bad if you apply it properly.

Not sure what you used. But if its bad Id try to find some sort of cleaner or stripper. Is it just wax or polish?

I use Mothers back to black and it works great on the black trim pieces. Also good on all the plastic garbage inside of the engine bay.
