If you're looking to spend no more than $40 per bottle, stay away from Angel's Envy. Most places charge upwards of $45-$50 per bottle, plus tax. If you're just starting out, Buffalo trace for $25 bucks is awesome. I prefer Eagle Rare which is about 32 bucks. Great flavor and actually tastes like a bourbon. Whistle pig is overrated for the price of $80 a bottle. I've got some Blanton's at home and will try it soon. Also have a bottle of Knob Creek 2001 Batch 2 which was around $150 a bottle. Buffalo Trace "Four" Roses single barrel - stronger side, but, great flavor Eagle rare 10 year - Best flavor of all listed below. Smooth, rewarding flavor. Russells Reserve - Stronger side, but, great overall. Breckenridge - smooth, easy drinker Knob Creek single barrel - stronger, but, fairly smooth, good taste. Bulleit bourbon - great taste, little bite Makers 46 - sweeter side Elijah Craig - Too sweet for my liking, but, decent All are under $40 a bottle and worth it. Certain bourbons NEED to be cut with a small cube to bring out more of the flavor. I put small cubes when I drink a glass with about 4-5 oz of bourbon in it.
