I don't know the guy other than he's a long time member of the vintage mustang site and it seems his government is failing him. His car was stolen and found but law enforcement won't go get it.

I’m not sure how it works in California but in Florida Leo’s wouldn’t be able to enter the property without a warrant. A warrant is drafted and approved from probable cause. I suspect there isn’t enough probable cause to get a warrant and that’s why no one is doing anything.

Question, because I live in FL. Say you have a gps tracker on your car that was stolen. Tracker shows its on the guys property/in their garage/whatever. Would that be probable cause for you guys to go search in there and see if the car is there?

Usually, even with a gps tracker, you’d need a search warrant and you can use the gps tracker as pc.

That’s correct about Florida. My god father stole my 2001 GT. He had it stolen and hidden on his property in North Port. I called the cops and showed them where the car was. They refused to go get it, even though it could be seen from street view. He then “sued” me for mechanics liens, and storage fee’s. I had to pay the “bond” on the car to get it, and then I could pursue this matter in court. However he died shortly after it was given to me. Because he was a piece of shit he trashed my interior, and threw shit in my engine bay to mess it all up. I later got my money back, and the car after waiting on the side of the road for 8 hours “waiting for a cops assistance”.

I hope he has better luck than I did.
