i have a 2010 sport trac with a caved in roof, was wrecked the same year it was bought brand new. I found an 02 that just needs an engine. would the engine out of the 2010 fit the 2002? and are the doors swappable from an 02 to a 2010. if i wanted to swap everything like the engine/transmission would their be an issue. i believe the 2007-2010 models were larger?

Different body styles, so body panels will not swap.

The engine? Depends? What engine does the 2010 have? The 2002? 2WD or 4WD? If it's the SOHC 4.0, they will swap over but have a few minor differences. The wiring and a few connectors are different - they're vehicle specific (electric clutch fan, sensor locations, different style MAF, etc). Balance shafts may or may not be present... Transmission? Again, you need to provide more details.

The 4.6 from the 02 is a 2V (if a 4 door, a ST only came with the 4.0), with the 10 being a 3V. They do not swap over easily.

My opinion? Scrap the idea of the 02 Explorer. They're junk.

the 2010 is a v6 2wd. the 02 has no engine or transmission.

so the doors wont fit also? could always swap the whole 2010 powertrain/drivetrain into the 02. the 2010 barely has any miles on it. the roof is dented in a little. besides that, swap a few doors and the truck looks new still.

this is the 02

the first gen sport trac, I THINK was a RBV (Ranger based vehicle), the second gen sport trac was on the same platform as the 3rd and 4th gen explorer.....

The engine will swap over no problem, you might have to change a few small things but as far as fitting, it'll fit fine.
