Like I said before, a couple years ago at least 2 or 3. I don't know if the actual "law" change in the book but the registry gave us the new safety requirement booklet stating the differences.

Idk man, all I know is when I was doing stickers (and went to the training school for certification to learn the laws for the inspections) they teacher told me you could literally spray paint your rear window black as long as you had two side mirrors. I have since stopped doing stickers but my shop still does and I had my car in and was told the rear window was way to dark. My obvious response was "since when" they got the inspection book out and showed me where it said 35 all around. I wish I still had my old inspection class materials I would take a picture of the page and show you where it said no specification for rear windows with two working side mirrors but I've loooong since thrown it out.
