I have always loved playing and watching sports and I was ok at football but never played anything else.
I always wanted to play baseball but my old man never let me so I didnt but I have always loved baseball and still do to this day.
I started collecting sports cards(mostly baseball and baskett ball) was really in to it but I had always wanted to collect sports memorabilla like autographed stuff but could not afford it as a kid and my parents always did what they could just to keep us comfortable but didnt have the money and wouldnt have spent it on that stuff even if they did. I know Professional athletes are as human as you and me and that theyre name scribbled on a ball or bat or what ever is seen as a waste to some.....especially with all the steroid stuff and dog fighting crap or spousal abuse cases(again proof they are human and make mistakes) but I have always wanted to collect sports memorabilla but couldnt afford to until the last couple of years. Its a hobby and sometimes a childish thing but it is one of my hobbies,I mostly have collected local athletes from here in Houston and primarily baseball. I was just wondering who if anyone else collects sports memorabillia and to what extent...and if you can please post pictures of your collection.I would post pics of my collection but have not the slightest idea as to how I will be glad to if someone can walk me thru it. Please keep negative comments to yourself if your not a collector, thanks!
PS I know I cant spell but who cares this is a car forum!

I have a pretty large baseball collection. I do not collect cards at all. Have a few autographed jerseys, bunch of autographed pics, probably 50 baseballs. I don't display much of it, couple of pics and jerseys. The baseballs tend to fade so they are in a safe. A friend of my Dad's works in major league baseball so that helps my collection.

Started collecting cards when I was young, and slowly started gathering memorabilia. I have all sorts of stuff: Elway/Terrell Davis Super bowl helmet, Joe Montana helmet, Namath helmet, Lebron James official jersey, Mickey Mantle lithograph. Those are a few of the things that come to mind. It is all packed away due a couple recent moves though

I have a huge card collection from what I was young. 99% of it is baseball.

I also have a few autographs from that time on various things.

Mickey Mantle signed ball
Griffey Jr. signed ball
4 1969 Mets signed ball
Phil Rizzuto signed ball
Jerry Rice signed photo/plaque
Signed hat with the entire 1994/95/96 NY Giants team
Giants ticket signed by Tom Landry, Frank Gifford, John Mara and various other old giants from a 75th Anniversary game.
Bunch of signed Giants cards from the 90's era.

I have thousands of baseball and football cards i have yet to sift through from my childhood and my dads, several other things that are probably useless except they were cool to look at. but my most prized piece is my signed cal ripken jr. baseball.
