Sources say your weight is pretty close, at least as the target pending crash testing.

Your pricing is about half of where MSRP will land, again as a target, may go higher. Also there will be very little chance of 'normal folks' getting an allocation unit, at any sane price. The first year production is already spoken for. IE sold. Ford is not worried about the ability to sell a six figure sports car, the market has digested that and agreed with it. In fact agreed that the 2005 run was much underpriced. There is no reason to cut corners on this car for pricing concerns, its an all out effort. No compromise for cost, weight, NVH.

jcthorne is spot on.
Additionally as with any limited vehicle program run (including the '05-'06GT) the build numbers/years can be modified based upon demand. After the initial homologation disbursement and the subsequent interest, Ford can gauge the future allocation accordingly.
If there is a second or third year of production we mere mortals may have an opportunity to acquire the new GT.
That said, paying for it may be another high hurdle....................;-):)
