Well I just picked up a 03 Cobra black , bone-stock with only 16000 miles on her. I bought a 2004 Cobra brand new did all the basic mods and ended selling it. I've kinda regret it ever since. I've been through a 02 Z06, 07 Z06 and 97 vette. Now I finally back at home in the 03. I just plan on doing some basic mods exhaust, RAI, and pulley.

I know everybody is going to dissapprove of this , but I was wondering if anybody ran a 19/20 wheel setup on the Cobra. I ran them on the vettes and loved the look and they didn't ride bad at all. I was thinking of some black true forged victory's with 275/30/19 front and 305/25/20 rear tire.

Please post some pics if anybody has any??

brad, if you run offset wheels. be prepared to find tires that match OE size height, if not your ABS light will go on throwing false codes after a while..

That tire size should be ok. Stock is 25.66 o/d the 19" front would be 25.49 and 20" rear 26" o/d.

I never had this problem and a predator or SCT handheld can be programmed for tire size as well

19's are pushing it...20's look completely ghetto. Outside of ruining the appearance of the car, you'll have zero traction.

+2

I have never seen a pic of 19's on a cobra i actually liked. The vette's can pull it off but not a cobra. 20's would make me throw up. 18's are absolutely perfect IMO.

I could definitely see running 19s in the back and 18s up front, I wouldn't go any bigger than that though. 19" wheels look pretty sick IMO.

^this! I have seen a couple on here that ran a staggered 19" rear/ 18" front, and it looked sick. I run 18's now with TF Chicanes, and if ordering a new set now, I would probably run 19's in the rear. INMO the scale is way off in stock form with the 17" wheels. I do agree with others though, that once you get into 20's, it is entering ghetto territory. They definitely should have had 18's from the factory.

The tires don't have to be OE height. The key to keeping the ABS light off is to make sure that the front and rear tires don't have too much of a height difference, as the ABS sensors will read this as the front tires spinning faster than the rear tires and throw a code. You could run 17's in front and 20's in back if you wanted to...as long as the tires are close to the same diameter there would be no problem.

Sounds like you will have a nice looking car that's different. Do worry about they think. Let them keep copying what has already been done, to get the approval of people that they don't know.

I thought about doing 19's all around but for some reason when you have 19's all around and the rear wheel that has a BIG lip it looks a tad smaller than the front. That was the reason for going 20's in the rear.
