Getting ready for my first oil change since I bought my 11 gt500 and can't decide what 5w-50 to run. Amsoil, redline or stick with motorcraft. Thanks in advance. I've read all the threads but nothing new on oil so just checking.

I am along with their Eao filter, no complaints. It was my 2007's first oil change at 2k miles from what I read it's a great choice the best actually.

AMSOIL Signature 5w-50 is what you want. Certified by Ford. Ran it for a bit, really liked it. Will be going back to it next oil change.

Why does the Forum recommend the 0-40?

I know the Ford oil "breaks down" to a 40 weight oil, but what disadvantage is there to running the full weight 5-50 Amsoil, which doesn't break down, but is NOT the recommended oil for everything except full out road racing?

Thanks

Has anyone done a UOA on the 5-50 yet? I haven't checked the UOA thread in a long time.
