Bio-med tech?
We prefer the term "Medical Imaging Engineer." But when you get past the fancy title, I am an x-ray mechanic. I don't work on any bio-med equipment, but I have helped the bio-meds out a time or two when they had some thorny electronic issues.
There was this one time, we had a VAD giving a warning light while a patient was on the table. The bio-med guy asked me to come along, and it was the first time I had seen an open-chest procedure. It definitely puts the pressure on, thinking "if I don't get this fixed, or if I screw this up, that individual may die." It was a false warning light, and the patient came through ok. After that, I stopped making fun of the bio-meds.
