My buddy just got a S2000 with a Vortech Supercharger kit putting his car around 350hp/215tq. I'm running a 2003 Cobra with JLT CAI, MAC H pipe, and Flowmaster CB.

What does everyone think? Does his significant weight difference balance out my hp/tq? Anyone have first hand experience? I think I got him from a dig but not so sure about a roll.

Run him from a dig or low roll and you shouldn't have a problem. Use the torque difference to your advantage.

350hp 215tflbs is that a typo is it even possible? How high do they rev?
I think you should beat him pretty good if thats the case.

They rev up pretty damn high. 9k rpms if it is a 2.0L and something like 8300-8500 rpms for the 2.2L. So yeah, from a dig I'd say you got him... not sure about rolls, though.

Since you have more than twice his torque to the ground a dig, slow roll, any roll for that matter and you will pull hard on him on the hit, he may creap back on the high revs but I think your 85whp advantage should make up for nearly the 600lb difference in car wt.

Im pretty sure, it is350rwhp, not 350hp.

A supercharged S2000, should trap anywhere from 112-116mph.

Are his crank or wheel hp? That makes the difference.

Not sure on wheel or crank hp. The vortech website lists 358 hp, but it sounds like crank hp because it doesn't specify to the wheels. Also found another site that dynoed one at 298 rwhp.

I'm fairly confident after seeing that but ya never know to you run. I'll be sure to post results. Hopefully I can get a video of the runs as well. Thanks to all for the input.

I think 600lb difference is the key. Thats close to a sec, in performance!

Most guys I've heard of with a comptech or vortech supercharge kit after tune will put the 320-360 hp at the wheels. so it's probably rwhp, but who knows. if he's your buddy, run him and see what happens. it's all in fun right?

There is a board member (ZNSUNV- or something like that) that had one...he may be able to give you some insight. He posts over in smackdown on all the political threads.

Not to highjack the thread but how do you like your rs6? I just looked at one, along with a rs4 and a GT3 and really can't decide what I want. The car has 15K miles and I can get it for low 50's, so it is a good deal just not sure I want another 4-door grocery getter:) Thoughts and impressions would be appreciated and you can pm or post. thanks Ron

never driven or rode in a cobra, but i wasnt impressed with my friends blown s2000. i believe he said it was pushing close to 350rwhp with a 7lb pulley, but i never saw his dyno sheet. i dont think you should have a problem beating him tho. his car revs to 9k, has steeper gears from the factory (4.10), and is lighter, but you have more power, more torque, and probably better grip

found a vid of an S2000's "tetst run" with a comptech S/C from 0-120. I don't know if it helps any, but it's the first on I saw.

http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A86.OSF5f...oo.com/video/play?vid=1106465600&fr=yfp-t-501

That s2000 is no slouch in the vid. 0-100 in 11 sec and 0-120 or 119 in 13 sec. A stock srt4 does 0-120 in 20sec so this thing moves. I know i had to use the srt for an example but those move stock up top and this thing is 3 seconds faster to 100 and 7 seconds faster to 120.Also, a z06 does 0-100 in around 10 sec... The s2000s run good with fi

If I'm not mistaken, a stock s2000 is in the 2850ish range and a stock 03-04 vert is 3800ish? 1000lbs is a nice difference.
