Title says it, I've got a '55 Willys (parts) truck and a '56 that had a 'Super Hurricane' 6 cylinder with a cracked block.

In a warehouse, I've found this flathead Ford motor that I can have, for the price of picking it up.

I see lots of conversions saying I'll need an adapter, and with the parts Willys I have a shot 302 and a V-8 adapter. I'd be really surprised if that'd work...but thought I'd mention it.

Stock T-90 trans in the buildable Willys, so a V-8 will blow it (parts car has blown 2'nd from the 2 bbl 302)

I've also got a T-19 and a Dana 20 from an IH Scout sitting, as well as a complete front diff from the Scout.

Not sure how far I want to go...Thinking easiest as there are other demands on my time and I tend to lose interest.

Maybe rebuilding the flathead during the winter would be a cool thing.

TIA, guys.

Mike

I believe the 24 bolt heads were from 38 to 53. You would have to dig deeper to see what size. Anywhere from 221 to 255 cubic inches.

Thank you sir!

Father says it's an early 50's motor that was used in trucks that delivered masonry supplies; cubes of brick, cement, and the like. I'll research further; there's got to be an ident plate somewhere on the thing.

Good websites for research, if you know any?

What I need is options for the bellhousings. How to mount a T-90 (or T-19) transmission. If I can mount to the stock T-90 in the jeep, the rest of the drivetrain can be left alone.

Thanks!

Mike

Looks like it was found in Pompei.

Been in a cement warehouse for beyond 50 years. My father used them in a brickyard, and when the truck engines got tired, had them rebuilt and swapped out. He says it's probably rebuilt- they kept one in stock in case... Not that 50 years of dust would keep it good... It'd be nice if they'd left plugs in it.

Looks like it's rebuilt, not that it means anything today.

Thanks for the leads, found some numbers above the bell housing looks like;
C101.1 X5

There's a plate saying reconditioned, and a sticker.

Right head has 29A RH, left side doesn't have anything, or it's under the sticker.
Thanks for the help, I need to get on a flathead message board now.
