Car's been parked for a month or so now, and looking at the edge of the tires under the car cover, for no reason whatsoever I asked myself:
"If I were a tree, what kind of tree would I be?"
When I answered that, I got to thinking about what it would take to put a solid axle and get rid of the IRS. I find that when the car is on the road, even trying to be careful on the gas, I hop more than that damn Easter Bunny in April.
So these are my questions:
1. How hard is it to do?
2. What axle would you recommend?
3. What changes would you make if you did put in a solid axle? I'm thinking same gears, but what reinforcements would you make?
4. Where's the best place to look for parts, besides the local scrapyard?
Thx,
~J
