My clutch has seen better days I think, and plus it's the clutch that came with the car. I would rather replace the clutch all together and no what I have...

I might be trading some stuff to my friend on another board for his brand new Spec stage 3 clutch. How is this clutch for a mostly stock cobra? I will be doing heads, cam and intake this summer.

I know the clutch is pretty heavy but what do you guys think??

Thanks guys

I had a Spec Stage 3 on my last Cobra and it was good. It shuddered pretty bad when the car was cold, but when it warmed up it was fine. I have a Spec Stage 3+ in my Cobra now, and it's great! It's pretty light, and doesn't shudder at all.

Stage 3+ > Stage 3

1,2 or 2+ is a better choice for a mostly stock cobra but if your getting a deal or trade take the 3.

As said, it probably will chatter some especially when cold.
It likes to be in or out, not really in between.

lol

Harder than stock.
The PP on the 2+ wes pretty stiff. Don't want to get stuck in traffic.
It was a little harder than the Centerforce DF.

Hahaha I'll be in a lot traffic on Staten Island too...

Thanks for all the input guys. Maybe I will get it and see if I can trade for a new Spec stage 2.

Vin, centerforce DF. I've had mine for 8k miles, it will be the only clutch I buy. Pedal feel is softer than stock, and grabs like a mofo.

I have a stage 2 and it is really stiff compared to stock and has a little chatter when cold. I would definitely go with the 2 if the 3 is as much different as the stock vs 2. Next time I will try something different.

Just make sure and get a new throwout bearing. Spec clutches are notorious for having the TOB seperating. Other than that, they are great clutches.

go with the stage 3+, it will leave you more room for modification and offer the same feel as a 2. I have run a couple of these clutches in probes with zero problems, one of these cars putting 420 at the tire. also put one in a 350whp fd3s with no issues to date. only clutch brand I would recommend over them is ACT for hardcore guys who could care less about clutch feel. I saw an ACT disk sitting in someone's backyard for over a year, caked in rust and mud, wire-wheeled most of it off, toss it in a racecar going mid 11s 3 days a week five passes a day, and it's lasted two years up to this point going 1.7 60's.

You guys love overkill don't you. lol

No need for 3 or 3+ in a bolt on street car.
Hell, Stage 1 would be enough for most cars in here.

Each stage up has more clamping force and more harsh pedal.
