They are aluminum.
Mine just blew a spark plug and stripped the threads. This is not that common on the 03/04's, but they do have new heads to correct the issue.

for some reason i was thinking they were cast iron, maybe i was thinking on my car. thanks for the info

The block is iron.
yeah i knew that block was cast iron to hold up better to the supercharger.
no, its just cheaper.
