Are upper control arms interchangeable across all models?

I have a UPR street non-adjustable UPA I bought for my 2011 Mustang GT. Never installed but now I have a 2012 GT500. Could I install it and would it be an upgrade over the stock GT500 UPA?

I'm sure somebody will chime in.

I put BMR U&LCA's on my 2010. If I had to do it over I would have bought the UCA brace. The factory one is flimsy at best. I am dropping my axle in a few weeks to do a set of 3.90 gears. I will replace it then.

I would definately do the brace.

I believe the 2011-up is either shorter or longer than the earlier, but someone else would have to verify this for sure. When I was at BMR, there was a difference in the UCA and its bracket from around 2011.......I think?

2011+ UCA are all compatible. GT/GT500/V6

2005-2010 UCA are all compatible.

2011+ UCA is 1" longer than the 2005-2010 UCA....the bolt is larger, and the Upper Mount is different due to the additional length of the 2011+ UCA.

Ok thanks!

Next question is....would this be an upgrade? Im not sure if there is a significant difference in the UPA for the GT and GT500.

All of which begs the question...can a 2011+ bracket be bolted in place of an earlier bracket and thus allow the longer upper arm? If the hole centers in the bracket/floorpan were the same then the larger fastener atop the tunnel could be made to work as well.

The receiving piece ("forward bolt location") on the mount is physically larger to accept the larger bolt, so it "could" work with a little effort.

If I had a 2005-2010, I would, in a heartbeat, upgrade/date to the 2011+ UCA and UCM.
