My buddy in Ohio wanted me to post this for him. He purchased a brand New Nismo and got full bolt ons and a tune from Switzer. So what he did was he took it out and raced a bone stock A8 C7Z. Here are the results. View is from the onboard camera from the C7Z.

I would say it's safe to say, that the Z held it's own for a bolt on and tuned GT-R.

Cool race. I'm still enamored by this cam/feature coming on the car from the factory. I will seriously buy a car (not the Vette) for this feature alone, Can't wait til its offered on other cars/brands.

Nice! How much power does your buddy's GTR make? Also anyone can tell what went on with the 4-5 shift from the Z?

If I'm not mistaken, I think the CTS-V comes with it.

I noticed that too, my heat guess is that the guy might have double guessed himself for a sec and might have let off for a millisec and then decided to keep the race going...

According to Switzer, the car made 680whp. It has full bolt ons, and a tune on pump gas. It roughly makes 100whp more but weighs 300lbs more. It's said that the turbos maxed out can flow enough to make 800whp with more fuel upgrades and E85.

What I am impressed with is that there were only 52 of these made but my friend tuned it and races it like that on the street. :)

Post this on corvette forum in the C7Z section and the mods will move it to 'other cars' due to the loss :)

hitman, Im not even going to watch the video. There all predictable. But let me guess, the GTR beats a stock c7z by bus lenghts right? Then once the GTR hit 200mph it went back to the future.

That was a lot more than a millisecond. I had to watch it twice to see what the heck was going on. The throttle indicator was still pegged, but that was definitely not on throttle. Maybe he hit a bump and the traction control cut power on him.

680awhp, stock turbos, just bolt-ons on pump gas?

A little high but English Racing tuned a Nismo on pump gas/bolt ons and made 645/588 SAE. Entirely plausible the switzer could have done a little bit better with more aggressive tune/different dyno? The Nismo's have different turbos from a regular GTR.

There's literally dozens of bolt-on GTRs in my neck of the woods, and I have never heard a single one claim to make over 650whp on stock turbos (and those cars were also on E85).

So hearing 680whp on stock turbos on pump really makes me raise an eyebrow.

Dude this car is a Nismo. It has Spec V (Nissan's GT3) turbos which are a larger framed, 11 blade turbo compared to the smaller 9 blade turbo used by the standard R35. The Nismo will make more power with just a tune than a full bolt on 93 octane non nismo car.

How many of those GT-R's you are referring to Nismo's?
