A friend is bringing me an Autologic (flip chip I think) chip this week. I know nothing about these chips, what they do, where you put them, what they do, etc. I'm on the fence on whether to use it and would appreciate any input you may have. Thanks

A chip is used to adjust air fuel, timing, etc. It basically is a new program for the computer, while it's plugged in. It is placed onto the slot in the PCM, under the passenger dash. A random autologic chip won't do anything for your car. You need to have it put on a dyno and tuned.
