Autometer bezel, paint or not?

Been looking at my Autometer dash bezel, and it doesn't look bad as is (unpainted). Did many of you guys install it unpainted? Are you happy with the appearance? Being that I have a 10th Anniv, my other option is to paint it a matching red to the interior trim, but I'm not sure I like so much color.

I have the black autometer dash bezel, it matches OK, it certainly doesn't stand out as being wrong. I'm worried that I'll paint it and it will look worse, or be suseptable to scratches. I may test the paint to see how close of a match it is.

definitely paint it gray...i did, much happier that way
