Well I finally got back to the track after the winter and didn't get the results I was hoping for.Mods since last fall are lowers, ajustable upper with HD mount and a 6pt NHRA legal roll-bar so add 80# to my already hefty 4202# new Holeshot wheels (they fit & look great) along with new Hoosier 28x10x15 slicks.
3 runs 1.652-7.344-11.414-126.091
1.670-7.363-11.465-125.435
1.649-7.350-11.462-123.308
All runs had alot of wheel spin off the line although techinque & rpm were the same as last year and track prep was good so I am baffled at why my average 60ft was off by .06 which explains the difference between my string of 11.25's-11.29's of last year.

I then decided that although traction was an issue I wanted to try a different Tune from Fred at Evolution (last season I was using a Tune from elsewhere) and the results were encouraging as I ran a 1.637-7.270-11.319-126.492 which was later in the day when it had gotten a little warmer so I must say that I am Very impressed with this Tune as it netted me a .15 reduction in ET and the car pulled much harder than before.I can only imagine what I would have run last fall with this Tune and although I have my JLT CFI & 2.6 pulley at home in a box I will-not install them until I get my traction issue resolved so hopfully the weather will cooperate and I can return to the track next weekend.

I would like to thank Fred and the guy's at Evolution for the great Tune and can't wait to try the other's that I got from them.

it only shows you how important every little item is was your tracking this fast. because of the new wheels and tires you will need a slight shift in burnout and launch technique before your dialed in again.

Your on the stock pulley/intake? Thats insane!! Easy 10's when you slap the goods on.

How much psi did you have in the slicks?

Yup,stock air intake and pulley even has the original oil in the motor as I only have 1350 miles on her.I just took a look at video from some of my runs and weight transfer is excellent but the wheels spin at least 5 or 6 rotations.

On Friday I put the slicks at 10 psi, and they seemed to hook decent.

Agreed you need to take them down to 10 psi:beer:

That is what we are running and it is working well for us, are you running tubes?

10# of air with a 4300# car makes it real loose at the top end and no I do not run tubes in my slicks.

half the fun of going back to the track is dialing it all in. as memory serves it did not take you long last time to find the sweet spot. just keep playing and soon you will hit that sweet spot again with your fine tuning on your launch!

Thanks for the input guy's,if the weather is good I will return to the track next sunday and after alot of thought and a talk with someone in the know I have made a little change to my suspension as I think that the massive weight transfer is hurting me more than helping me.

MD do you know if 15 inch bogarts with 6.5 inch backspacing will fit the rear? Also what rev are you in with the 28 inch tire/4.10s combo at the finish. Thanks

My holeshot wheels have a 7 .7/8th BS with a .80'' spacer and they fit purfectly,I think that a 6.5'' BS will stick out causing the tire to rub on hard launches. For the life of me I can't remember what my finish line rpm is but I will try to remember to check if I get to the track this weekend.
