Battery Light

My battery light came on the other day, so i was thinking maybe my alternator was starting to go...I checked the voltage and running I was getting 13.9, turned off getting 12, today I cleaned all the terminals but its still on. Any suggestions? Im guessing its the battery, it is old and worth buying a new one.

Check the three wire terminal going to the alternator, just give the wires a tug and see if one pops out. Pretty common issue.

Will do, thanks...I forgot to mention that the light goes on and off as I drive, its not constant.

You nailed it, one of the wires on the plug to the alt came right off. Ordered: Motorcraft WPT118
