Belt dust, slippage?

I noticed a little dust on the motor the other day when I had the hood up. Is it normal to have a little. The belt is not glazed at all and looks to be in good shape. I have a 2.93 pully and the xxxx745 Goodyear belt. I have no boost guage so I do not know if it is loosing boost.

If it is to the right side of the pulley on a recessed area of the intake, mine has the same thing. I noticed this with my 2.93 pulley. I changed to a 2.80 pulley and was very disappointed in the results. I think my belt is slipping and even more so with the smaller pulley.

Of course it is slipping more. But when it gets moving it is spinning faster....... there is less surface area for the belt to grip the smaller pully.

yup, me too. 2.80" w/ 74.5" belt...
do we need to replace the lower pulley and put on a larger upper pulley to circumvent/alleviate the problem???
