belt stetching?????

call me crazy, but i just replaced my belt because the belt started rubbing on eachother just under the tensioner. so on the replacement i measured the distance between the tensioner and what wraps around the alt. and their getting closer WTF!!!!!! have u heard of such a thing??? or is something else causing it ?? its pissing me off...........:cuss:

My belt is pretty close to rubbing under the tensioner on the waterpump pulley. It stretched initially, but has stayed clear. Hopefully your new one doesn't stretch as much. I went with a 7/8 longer belt, cuz the stock serpentine kept running off the smog pump even after shimming the tensioner. Good Luck!

I don't know what kind of belt you bought but could it have to do with the quality of the belt maybe? maybe try buying a better belt?

I hear alot of hype about gator belts. the one I bought seemed to be doing fine though, it was just some no-namer... but I'm sure you'll get some more replies on this...
