Benefit of new K- member

I was talking with someone the other night about header installation. We both agreed that dropping the K - member was the way to go, but he said he would go ahead and replace as well since it's out. Can anyone tell me what the benefit is? Thanks :read:

Easier to get to the unside of the engine, like when you are installing headers.

unless you have a dedicated race car or you drive very little on the street, dont do the k-member. yes it drops weight but it also makes you lose strength up front. do a search...i have explained alot on this subject.
