Benz Kill...

Going to lunch the other day, I spot this red sportscar coming up strong behind my back. I don't think nothing of it until we both get caught up on a red light. This cocky SOB with a 500CL Benz starts reving at me and rolls down his window shouting that he wants to race. Light turns green and I pull on him so hard that by the time I was 3/4 into 3rd I was already about 10 cars ahead of him. I slow down thinking that he had enough. Well the next stop we come up on is a 4 way stop. He gets besides me again...and again he takes off. Once again, I hand him his azz. I know that those 5.0 engines in those benz aren't strong or worth bragging about for a kill.......but it just felt good putting a $90,000+ car in its place. On the third stop, the guy finally complimented my snake and at the end of his complement, he says, "by the way, the exhaust sounds nice"....lol.;-)

Nice kill, gotta put the snobs in their place. The 2001 CL500, according to MOTOR TREND magazine will run the 1/4 mile in 14.2 sec. So its no slouch. Sounds like you have a pretty nice ride.

A CL500 against a stock Cobra should not even be a challenge for the Cobra.

The CL only has 302HP and 339Ft/lbs of Torque and weighs 4100 pounds.

You must have really kicked his ass with your moded Cobra.

I have a 2003 Cobra Convertible on order, a F-150 SuperCrew and a Mercedes E55. Don't generalize, dude. The Merc is one Bad ride BTW (0-60 in 5.1 @12.88 @104)

For $70K it should be!

The 03 Cobra for less than half that price did the Quarter at E-Town two weeks ago in 12.5.

But my Lightning was 12.61 @107.9 (E-Town)
0-60 is 4.7 sec(G-Tech)

So, the benz is a nice ride, been there done that.

But the Lightning Strikes fear:-D
