Got a few mods going on my 13' 5.0 and was wondering which gears would be best for my mods. I daily the car and will eventually see the track from time to time. Here's my mod list

Cobra jet intake manifold
cobra jet single blade tb
Jlt cai
Lethal P. 3" o/r hpipe
Magnapack axle back

Car is a track pack and has 3.73s

Sounds like it has the right gears now. Best thing to do is get it to the track and monitor your trap RPM. Base your gear suggestion from that. If it crosses 7200-7500 in 4th than your good to go.

If your not spinning it past 7500 I wouldn't go over 3.90's. I'm debating 3.90's but already have the 4.10's just need to toss them in. I'm running a built motor and will spin it to 8k and the 4.10's depending on the size of tire would put me at 122mph +/- in 4th but that's just what I've come up with using a few different calculators.

3.73s are perfect for the quarter mile with the CJ intake. With 27" tires, you'll hit 122-131MPH@7500-8000RPM in 4th gear. If you end up needing a little more gear, it would make more sense to me to run a 26" tire than to change rear gears for one step lower. Tires are much easier to change than gears. 26" tires would get you 118-126MPH@7500-8000RPM.

Hey shaken you and I had the same mindset coming from a Mach 1 to these new 5.0... Unless you have an automatic 3.73 is the biggest gear you can go unless you wanna shift into 5th on the track

3.90s actually would be a great gear for staying in 4th too. Even if it may be slightly better than 3.73s, it's too small of a step to hassle with. That's why I suggested running a shorter tire instead.

Now, if you were changing from 3.31s, I'd probably pick 3.90s.
