like my rommate says above... he witnessed me smoking a new Honda 600rr. Your friend is wrong. I had a 2001 R1 and Jeff had a 2001 gsxr 750. We know what bikes can do.

Competing with 600's is no problem...Anything above a 600 will be...My first time at the track with my 2001 gsxr 750, I ran a 10.7...So, you will need some serious hp to be able to hang with anything bigger than a 600...I did witness drkchk03svt pull on on new honda 600rr...They are supposed to be one of the quickest 600's..it runs mid 10's

Well...Over 120 will be close against a 600cc SS bike. From 70mph, if the bike leaves from 2nd gear, it will take a lot (500rwhp) to hang with the bike up to 120mph.

For road racing, the sportbikes will OWN cars hardcore!

No way that a 600cc bike can take off in 2nd at 70mph...My 750 went to 90mph in 2nd, yet 600cc bikes have a slightly higher redline, I think like 14 or 14.5...The bike would be sitting around 10-11,000rpm...That speed is more like 3rd gear

I have both Cobra (see sig for mods) and a 600RR (04)
The bike runs consistent mid 10's with just a slip-on pipe and my Cobra runs high 11's only

So I would put my money on the 600...

I ran the bike from about 70 to 160. Has nothing to do with the 1/4 mile. Of course the bike is going to launch better than your cobra.

Here you go.

I've picked on a few 600's with the GTS, but I also ride a modded, 150rwhp 2001 R1, and It feels slightly faster than the viper. It's not easy to get a perfect launch with the bike though. There's a fine line between bogging the clutch or wheelieing out.

my brother thinks he can beat my gt in the 1/8 which runs mid 6's. The bike is a 84 ninja 900 thats bored to a 1000 with other mods also. Had some people thinking he would take me off the line but i dont think so with my 1.45 60'

I've run against many bikes from a roll, usually with a good outcome (750cc or under), but then again ive had my ass handed to me trying to run liter bikes.

Its very possible to outrun bikes from a roll, just dont try to do it from a dig, they can come out of a hole alot quicker than most cars.
