Boost gauge

I'm looking to buy a new car and the boost gauge is reading 16 psi but the car only put down 420whp it's an 07 gt with the Saleen 475 kit I think The gauge is not reading accurately is there any way of double checking the boost its making ?

You can either put another gauge on to compare or test the gauge with compressed air.

I had an issue with my boost gauge reading low so I bought a cheapo gauge from Autozone ($25) and just ran it under the hood and through the window to check against my actual gauge.

Well I figured it out there was a loose wire that caused the gauge to shut off at some point and restart it self and that made it read all over the place after finding the loose wire it showed the car on 5 psi which makes more since with the numbers
