Boost Guage?

this most likely sounds retarded but can someone please explain what the diff is between an mechanical and electric boost guage? the reason i ask is the electric guages cost quite a bit more and if the mechanical guage does the same why spend so much more money?

The mechanical gauge runs a line from the manifold all the way to the back side of the gauge. An electrical gauge will have a sending unit that hooks to the manifold vac line and wires that run to the back of the gauge.

Either work just fine.

Yeah that pretty much sums it up. Most electrical guages have a peak recall as well. If I ever redo my gauges I'll change to electrical

Electrical gauges are a little bit more accurate too, but who's watching their Boost gauge THAT close? As E said they both work just fine
