Borrowing money (help inside)

Ok guys and gals. So right now I have a 2002 GT that a buddy of mine is wanting to buy. But he is just going to get it for my payoff bc I am looking for a cheaper note. So the question is what is the best way to borrow $5-6,000 to get me into a cheaper vehicle. My bank won't loan money for a car over 5 years old. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Save up 2-3 grand, buy a beater, have no car payment?

Thats what I thought about doing. I am wanting to buy a notch or an LX after my GT is gone.

Id try a Credit Union. Stay away from online loan stuff, interest will kill you

Credit union FTW. I went in to buy my 04 dodge pickup a year ago,went to a bank and the interest was going to be double the credit unions. Due to the age of the vehicle, the length of term and % I could have bought a brand new one and had the same payment :bash: I no longer bank there either.
