Brake Pads

Thinking of installing Wilwood front and rear brake kits. The kits come with Wilwood pads.

My question is, will I be limited to only Wilwood pads or will I be able to use other brands such as Hawk?

Anyone done a Wilwood install?

Depending upon what caliper is used (kit ordered) your pad options can vary from a few to many.

The W4/6A calipers use a fairly unique pad shape at this time that not many other companies support. The more common BSL6 calipers and their 16mm thick pads are quite popular from other suppliers.

In both cases you've got a pretty good variety of pads from Wilwood to choose from. Compounds for a variety of applications. I'd start there and see how they work for you. You don't really need to Jump Ship so much as work with someone who knows the compounds and proper usage of them. Changing brands won't ensure the right pad is used.
