everyone with solid axles: What brakes did you go with? Better yet, what are the options?
1. swap calipers and rotors (keep cobra brakes on the new solid axle)
2. even swap (downgrade to the GT brakes) for the purpose of being able to run a slick on a 15 in wheel
3. can just the caliper be swapped to the smaller rotor on the GT rear end? and if so will it still fit the 15 in wheels?

:bash: trying to figure out what I can keep in this swap.

THX in advance for any help:coolman: Ken

I just swapped to a GT rotor with the leftover "cobra" caliper and pads

The only difference between a GT and Cobra rear brake is the larger cobra rotor and slightly different pads.

Do you mean you put your cobra calipers o the GT 8.8 with the GT rotors and everything fit ok?

Like StlBlack said,

The main difference between the GT and Cobra setup is the caliper mounting bracket. The Cobra bracket holds the caliper out farther from the center of the axle allowing for a larger rotor to be used.
10 inch GT vs. 11.7 Cobra rotors.

The calipers are the same. The Corba rotors are slightly thicker and so the stock pads will be slightly thinner when new.

Everything will work though. You can use the GT rotors with the Cobra calipers.
