Buying advice

Looking around for a 2007-2009 gt500 and found one close to home from a dealership. Dealership is asking $33,895 for a Certified 2008 with 33,000 miles on it.
Seems a little high but thought I would ask the experts on here on how to go about it.

It doesn't sound outragous from a dealer if it's the color combo/options you want. If not I would shoot for 31k out the door or keep searching. The market section on here is a great resource to look as well.

You shouldn't limit yourself to dealers only when purchasing. 28 to 30k will get you one with less miles. Its your money, buy what you want. For just a few grand more your into the newer body style Gt500. If your set on 07 to 09 there are definitely better deals out there.

That's the price range that I would offer them 28-30k. The big reason why i'm looking at this one is that it's certified and has the warranty. I probably won't modify it for a couple of years so the warranty would be nice insurance. This is the first gt500 that i'm going to look at / drive so i'm in no hurry to pull the trigger just yet.
appreciate the response!

Around my way the going price for 2007-2009s is around $35K at dealerships if they have very low miles, like 10K. Almost bought a certified 2008 with 1400 miles for $35,900, but I couldn't justify $35K for a 5 year old car.

Once they go over 40K the price drops to around 30K.

If that is the car you want, try to knock it down to $31-$32K.

I lucked out and found a 2011 GT500 convertible with bumper to bumper for 5 months and powertrain warranty until december 2015 at a dealership for $38975, I bought it immediately.

I did not initially want a Vert, but the deal was too good to pass on.

I have to agree with the last two posters. The prices of the GT500 have gone up. I have been looking for 2007-2009 GT500s and they are all asking mid to high 30s. Being certified, that should bring the value up at least a grand.

Given the 07-09 Clutch TSB, the CPO has somedefinite value.

I do not think the price is unreasonable nor is it a steal. It is probably right down the fairway without taking into account regional variances.

If theOP likes it, work the deal but know its fair.

I got my 08 with 13,000 miles last year for 32,500. I would say 30,000 would be a fair price if its what you want. One thing I'll never sacrifice is color, I specifically searched for 07-09 Vista Blue Shelby's. if its been on the lot since feb they may be willing to go down to 30,000. Good luck in your search

Prices will always differ by region. What some pay you think is high but where they are. When I purchased my car in 2010, its an 11. No dealer within 300 miles wanted to sell below 50K. I was ordering unless they had my car on the lot and still couldn't get a deal.

Called Downs Ford in Kentucky and he gave me 48K right off the top before negotiations started. Told him I wanted to buy but needed to work on price since I had to wait. Told him what I wanted and he started laughing. David the wait is over, I have your car on my showroom floor with the options you want right now so lets deal. When it was all over I paid 46.5K and he threw in the shipping since he had a delivery coming this way the following week. No one around here would even consider the deal.

Take your time and really search. Great deals are out there just may have to travel. Spoke with a Guy tonight that purchased a 10 with compound boost already set up for a killer deal. Just have to be patient and look.
