ok, I got a laptop a few weeks ago. It's an Acer Aspire 5102WLMi with a 1.6GHz AMD Turion 64 x2 in it. Real nice laptop, got it for $700, 120gig HD, ATI Xpress 1100, and a gig of DDR2 memory.

Anyway, Im going to buy Test Drive Unlimited next month when it comes out, and everywhere Ive read has said 2+ GB of memory. So I'm looking for more memory, obviously 2 or above, but have no clue where to look.

Help meeeeee!

it will cost you about $240 to up grade. Might be able to sell you 2 512 sticks.

$240? Hell Crucial has them for $150ish, dont remember exactly. I only have two memory slots, one of them already has a gig, so 2 512s would do anything but give me the same amount i already have.

You have 2 slots. They have 512 each in them. You will need to buy 2 1 gig to upgrade to 2 gig. You could sell your 2 512 to someone who has like 256 and wants to upgrade.

No, I have 2 slots. One of them has 1 gig, the other is empty.

* 1 GB 533 MHz DDR2 RAM (2 x 512 MB)
* 120 GH Hitachi 4200 RPM HD
* 15.4-inch WXGA Acer CrystalBrite screen
* ATI Radeon xPress 1100 integrated graphics card
* Dual layer DVD +/- RW combo with lightscribe? (comes with lightscribe software, but drive doesn't specify if it has lightscribe or not)
* Windows Media Center Edition 2005
* Atheros Wireless 802.11 a/b/g with Signalup high efficiency antennae
* 8-cell battery with a max of 4.5 hrs battery life with settings on low

Might pull the cover off and double check. Yours is upgradeable to 4 gig. Pretty good. Mine is just upgradeable to 2 gig. I have 2 x 512. Wish mine would have came with a 1 gig stick.

Take it CompUSA or Best Buy and have the tech's look at the RAM and tell you what you can put in it. Or you can pop it open yourself and see what the speed is, then you can search online and buy it and put it in yourself.
